Examination Applications
Applications for the Autumn 2024 examinations will be open between Friday 31 May and Friday 5 July. Late applications will not be accepted. Candidates should ensure that they select the correct examination that they wish to take. Applications for the BMS Stage A and C Examinations will be open from Thursday 11 to Friday 26 July inclusive.
Candidates who require reasonable adjustments to the examinations must complete the reasonable adjustments form, (form available to download by scrolling down this page in the side column) and return it to [email protected] with appropriate supporting evidence once their application is complete and no later than 2 weeks after the closing deadline for the session. Applications received after this time may not be able to be accommodated.
Histopathology Part 2 - the overseas centre is TBC. The Examinations team will email candidates after the 7th July closing date to confirm which overseas centre will be hosting in Autumn 2024 and to invite requests to sit at the available overseas centres at that point. Please note that places at overseas centres are strictly limited and we will not be able to accommodate all requests.
Candidates for the Combined Infection Certificate Examination, Part 1 Examination in Infection or Part 1 Examination in Medical Microbiology & Virology should apply as follows:
- Combined Infection Certificate Examination: single specialty ID or Tropical Medicine trainees in the UK training programme
- Part 1 Examination in Infection: Single specialty microbiology or virology trainees, joint trainees in microbiology or virology and another specialty in the UK training programme
- Part 1 Examination in Medical Microbiology and Virology: clinical scientist trainees
Overseas applicants for these exams may apply for the one best suited to their training pathway. Please note that in order to later apply for the Part 2 Examination in Medical Microbiology or Virology candidates must have passed either the Part 1 Examination in Infection or the Part 1 Examination in Medical Microbiology and Virology.
Haematology Clinical Science trainees should ensure that they apply for the Part 1 Examination in Haematology Clinical Science.
