Join us for the 2024 Kettle Lecture, which will be given by Professor Peter Chiodini OBE
This hybrid event will offer a unique and fascinating insight to the work of consultant parasitologist, Professor Peter Chiodini OBE.
Open to all, Professor Chiodini will deliver his lecture, 'Life Cycle of a Clinical Parasitologist' to an in-person audience in the ILS1 Seminar room, Singleton Campus, Swansea University Medical School and to an online audience via this livestream link.

Speaker Biography
Professor Peter Chiodini is Consultant Parasitologist at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Honorary Professor at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, Honorary Clinical Professor at University College London and Director of the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) Malaria Reference Laboratory and the UKHSA Parasitology Reference Laboratory.
Professor Chiodini organizes the UK National External Quality Assessment Schemes for parasitology, is a member of the UKHSA Advisory Committee on Malaria Prevention in Travellers, the Department of Health Advisory Committee on Dangerous Pathogens, and advises the National Blood Service on the prevention of transfusion-transmitted parasitic infections. He is an ESCMID Fellow and was Dean of the Faculty of Travel Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow from 2009 to 2012. He is also a practising clinician at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases, with special interests in malaria and hydatid disease. His research interests include new diagnostic methods for parasitic infections, malaria, Chagas disease and hydatid disease. In 2018 he was awarded an OBE for services to parasitology and malaria''
