Autopsy webinar series – Autopsy liver pathology

  • Professor Adrian Bateman

    Professor Adrian Bateman has been an NHS consultant histopathologist in Southampton since 1997 and has subspeciality interests mainly in gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary-pancreatic pathology. He is Editor-in-Chief of Diagnostic Histopathology, the National Pathology Advisor to the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (BCSP) and the Professional Clinical Advisor in Pathology for the BCSP in the south of England. He is also the Chair of the Royal College of Pathologists Specialty Advisory Committee in Cellular Pathology. He has published quite widely within his subspeciality areas and is the Lead Editor for the upcoming sixth edition of Morson and Dawson’s Gastrointestinal Pathology.

  • Dr Esther Youd

    Dr Esther Youd is an autopsy pathologist at the University of Glasgow, with particular interest in sudden cardiac death, maternal death and medical education. She is Chair of the RCPath Death Investigation Committee, Chair of the UK Cardiac Pathology Network, and reviews maternal deaths for MBRRACE-UK. She is the RCPath Clinical Director for Digital Pathology Education, a role which encompasses oversight of the Pathology Portal. She is external examiner at Queen Mary University of London and an examiner for the RCPath CHAT exam.
