This is the annual symposium from SHOT which is the independent, professionally led haemovigilance scheme in the UK. The symposium has an exciting programme covering key haemovigilance and safety related topics.

TOPICS COVERED
Delegates will be able to receive an update on the latest Annual SHOT Report, learn about the emerging themes in the submitted reports and the recommendations from Dr Shruthi Narayan. The programme includes an exciting debate related to informed consent for safe transfusions- Dr Damine Carson and Dr Catherine Booth will be sharing their perspectives. Dr Laura Pickup will also cover staff fatigue and impact on patient safety. Dr Anne Kelly will provide an update about paediatric haemovigilance.
The event is also an exciting opportunity to learn from work that is being done across the NHS to improve transfusion safety and we have a blood donor sharing insights and experiences as well. Members of the SHOT team will additionally cover a few learning cases from the latest Annual SHOT Report.
