A secondment opportunity has arisen at NHS Digital which may be of interest to those with expertise, experience and interest in areas such as Pathology messaging, the Pathology Bounded Code List and the National Laboratory Medicine Catalogue:
The role will be responsible for leading the clinical review and taking NHS Digital clinical governance responsibility for the draft pathology data standards in the national test list for activity reporting to NHS Improvement as recommended by Lord Carter for publication (as a national test list) in October 2016.
Deliverables:
1) clinical comments on draft national pathology test list data standards
2) documented internal clinical governance approval of the list as suitable for publication in October 2016
3) advice for on-going clinical review for the test list maintenance process.
Skills and experience
- Ability to review and advise on the conceptual 'mapping' of several local pathology catalogues to a draft national test list, in spread sheet form.
- Communication skills for informal consultations with peers across all pathology disciplines will be also be required.
Other information
This role can be job-shared, e.g. by 2 individuals each contributing as a 20-25% FTE, or filled by 1 individual contributing 40-50% FTE in a 3 month period up to November 2016. This role can be performed anywhere in England, though occasional travel to London or Leeds may be required. Work communications are anticipated to be largely 'at distance' via email and WebEx. Preferred employment type for this role is as a part-time secondment to NHS Digital.
