At a time when many laboratories and providers are implementing electronic requesting of laboratory tests, which allows the requestor and the laboratory to manage what is requested, there needs to be a solution to support this process based on the best available evidence. This report proposes a set of consensus recommendations from the perspective of pathology and laboratory medicine.
