As part of our ongoing aim to improve patient safety we have published a new Patient Safety and Quality Strategy.

We are excited to announce the launch of the Patient Safety and Quality Strategy 2024-2029.

This strategy sets out our vision for making real improvements in patient safety and ensuring high-quality pathology services. Crucially, it’s been shaped by the insights of our members and key stakeholders from across the profession, ensuring it addresses the real challenges we face every day.

A Collaborative Effort

Over the past few months, we have worked closely with a range of experts from different pathology specialties and regional leaders to patient safety advocates. Their contributions have been at the heart of this strategy, and we are incredibly grateful for their time and expertise.

What’s in the Strategy?

The strategy focuses on six key areas:

  • Quality improvement and patient safety
  • Workforce expansion, development and wellbeing
  • Digital transformation and technological integration
  • Regulatory compliance, accreditation and advocacy
  • Collaboration
  • Communication.

Each of these areas has been carefully developed to ensure we are ready to tackle the future of pathology with a focus on safety, innovation, and excellence.

We encourage you to explore the full strategy and see how it supports your work and the wider goals of patient safety in pathology.
