On 30 January 2019 a conference held at Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham focussed on progress towards the introduction of a network of medical examiners across England and Wales from April 2019. Chaired by Professor Jo Martin, President of the Royal College of Pathologists and Dr Suzy Lishman, the event focussed on key issues such the funding of local medical examiners networks as well as the independence and training of medical examiners.
