The College hosted the first Celtic Summit with representatives from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing pathology services in each nation

Hosted by College President, Dr Bernie Croal, the inaugural Celtic Nations Summit in August brought together the Chief Scientific Officer for Scotland, Professor Catherine Ross, Chief Scientific Adviser for Northern Ireland, Professor Ian Young, National Pathology Lead for Wales, Alan Deacon, and regional council members and other key College representatives.

Issues discussed during the meeting were workforce, training, IT and pandemic preparedness. There were many opportunities for further collaboration on shared areas of delivering diagnostics and pathology services and The College will be publishing a report of the summit later in the year.
