If you are keen to contribute your expertise, collaborate with colleagues, and support the delivery of the College’s Patient Safety and Quality Strategy 2024–2029, we encourage you to apply.

What does the role entail?

As a PSSG member, you will be:

  • Reviewing national patient safety data and trends, identifying key risk areas and opportunities for improvement.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of patient safety projects in line with the College’s Patient Safety and Quality Strategy (2024–2029).
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of these initiatives, using agreed indicators to ensure that improvements are meaningful, measurable, and sustainable.
  • Ensuring that all safety measures meet national and international standards, maintaining consistency and high quality in pathology services.
  • Collaborating with other College committees, healthcare providers, and partners to share best practice, foster innovation, and maintain open lines of communication.
  • Attend up to four meetings per year (with communication continuing between meetings), participate in discussions, and contribute to decision-making.
